1914 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson, #103, SGC 84

In the current Mile High Card Company sports card auction, up for bid is a 1914 Cracker Jack, Shoeless Joe Jackson, #103, graded SGC 84.   That SGC 84 equates to a 7 or Near-Mint with the other big reputable grading houses.

This card is a must-have for the high-end vintage card collector.  According to the listing on Mile High's website, there is only one version of this card graded higher.  Rare company.

It's reported that this 1914 Jackson card was not offered through the mail like some other Cracker Jack cards, and could only be found in the candy box.  As such, this card is found with stains more often than not.  To find a version without staining is remarkable.

With 16 days remaining to bid as of this post, the card is at over $12,000..

1957 Topps Don Drysdale BVG 7.5

Up for sale on eBay is this 1957 Topps Don Drysdale Brooklyn Dodgers beauty, graded near-mint + (7.5) by Beckett Vintage Grading.

The card looks to be in as graded, and as advertised condition, according to the screen shots of the scan which you'll see below. The corners of the card look to be in real good condition, particularly on the bottom of the card.

The surface of the card looks to be in great condition as well. The full screen shot of the back of the card shows that it is off-center, which probably prevented just a bit higher grading. Some collectors aren't overly concerned with centering, given the other aspects of the card are in good shape.

1956 was Drysdale's rookie season with the Dodgers, but the 1957 season saw Drysdale get significant on-field time, and he quickly proved to be a phenom, winning 17 games with a 2.69 ERA for Brooklyn. Spending most of his career in L.A., Drysdsale would finish his career with 209 wins and a stellar 2.95 ERA.

The sale price on this card is $450 with free shipping. The seller has a 99.6 % feedback rating.

1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #53 PSA 5.5

This 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth card, #53, is one of the most sought after cards in the hobby.  This particular card has been graded 5.5 by PSA, enough for excellent plus condition.  It's interesting to look at the back of the card in the holder to see how thin these cards really are.  You can actually see the front picture of Ruth through the back of the card.  The corners of this card are exceptional for a 1933 vintage card.  But look at the top right corner and you do see some indication of either a bend or an artifact from when the card was cut from its sheet.  If you're bidding on this card from Michigan, make sure to account for the 6% sales tax.  This is a real nice card which any serious baseball card collector with the cash to spare, would want in their collection. You can bid on this card in auction on eBay.  The auction ends on February 7th at 6pm PST.  The seller has 100% positive feedback according to eBay.

This 1959 Topps football card of Green Bay Packer and Hall of Famer, Paul Hornung has been graded PSA 8.  Card #82, shows the "golden boy" who won the Heisman just a few years before this card was issued.  Hornung would be named to the 2nd team All-NFL by the AP and UPI in 1959.

The multi-colored lettering of this card has a distinct 1950s feel in my opinion.  This PSA 8 card is for sale at nearmintcards.com for $195.

1958-59 Parkhurst Jacques Plante, #22, Ungraded
